March with Lindsay Nicholas

March with Lindsay Nicholas

Hi friends!

Lindsay here, I thought it’d fun to pop onto here for a good-old fashioned catch up.  March has been an absolutely hectic month at LiNNY, and I’ve been all over the place both literally and figuratively.  There’s been some highlights, one of which is the new faces you’ll be seeing at the LiNNY boutique on Little Collins Street in Melbourne CBD.  Georgina, a good friend of mine and founder of her own business, EmpowerGirl, has come on as Style Consultant, VIP Clientele Lead and Organization Queen.  Laura, a newly graduated fashion marketing student from Collarts, has join the LiNNY team a fellow Style Consultant and Marketing Specialist.  Between these two and myself, we’ve got some big plans on the books and are working hard to prepare for the coming months.  I’d love to share more but you’ll just have to what and see what comes 😉

Not only do we have new faces, but new styles!  LiNNY bestseller, the Elizabeth Suit, is now available in two new colourways.  Expanding the range to include Royal Blue Check and Black alongside our Classic Red and Grey/Burgundy Check, these new inclusions broaden the versatility of the suit and SOMETHING.  And lucky for all of us, that’s not the only new that’s coming.  I’ve been running around like crazy visiting fabrics, ordering samples, and experimenting with new fabrics to ensure the upcoming collection is the best of the best.  Slow fashion takes time, but it’s well worth the wait.

On a more personal note, because this past month has been hectic, I’ve been reminded that time away from work is as important as the work itself.  Opening up the store at the end of December was a big task that I took on largely by myself before I had my team.  But, having them now is allowing me to take well earned time away when I need it, and reminding me to take more pleasure in even the smallest acts of self care.  My husband and I actually took a week-long trip to Hobart, our first time on a plane in two years.  I was like a new parent leaving my baby alone for the first time, but I hadn’t realized how much I needed it.  I found inspiration everywhere, but our day spent at MONA was something I’ll never forget.  The Museum of Old and New is a Hobart staple and is not to be missed, both challenging and shocking for us in divinely artistic ways.  Then we finished the day with a dinner in Salamanca Market.  Nothing like sitting at a table across from the one you love to remind you why you do what you do.

Coming back from my trip was like a reset, so with all that aside, April is shaping up to be a great month at LiNNY.  Even though the weather is getting colder, winter fashion is only just warming up.  The creative juices are flowing and I’m so excited when I can finally reveal what is coming next for Lindsay Nicholas New York.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support, and to every one of you who’s come into the Little Collins St. location.

Speak to you soon xx
